Excitement in the office for The Dorset Business Awards has been building; especially as one of our very own, Tom Davis, is up for an award!
The DBA’s have been celebrating the achievements of Dorset’s businesses for fourteen years- expanding from only 5 awards to the region’s leading business awards, with 13 categories announced just this year. The awards enable a feature of talents and achievements from both individuals and companies, providing a platform for promotion as well as recognition.
This year introduced a brand-new category recognising the Young Apprentice Ambassador of the Year. The award, sponsored by Superior Seals, showcases how current or past apprentices endorse apprenticeships as an ideal career choice to other people.
Tom Davis is our Head of Managed Services here at Cloudserve and has deservingly earned the nomination through his work over the past 6 years. A former apprentice himself, at 17 he was recognised as a Microsoft Apprentice of the Year at the houses of parliament. Since his recognition in 2012, he has worked closely with Microsoft as an apprentice ambassador, promoting apprentices and opportunities to young people and businesses across the UK.
We’re extremely pleased to have Tom nominated for the Young apprentice Ambassador of the Year Award. It’s a great achievement not only for Tom but for all of us all here at Cloudserve. Just becoming a finalist gives our business recognition of what we do and our quality of work within the computing service industry.
“I’m honoured to be considered for this award alongside some incredible local businesses, and honestly whether I win or not, I’m going to continue to promote Apprenticeships as a viable alternative to the typical university route. There are so many fantastic opportunities available to young people at the moment and I want to make sure that they have all of the facts needed to make the best decision about their individual futures.”
– Tom Davis, Head of Managed Services

We wish all 39 finalists endless amounts of luck!
Cloudserve have all our fingers and toes crossed, let’s hope for the best!
